Richard Cousins (1927-2018)
From the heart of Newburyport’s historic south end
this single owner estate is offering the accumulation of over (3) generations
of antiques, paintings, silver, Victorian jewelry, prints, furniture, china, clocks, glass and many, many, objects of virtue as well as interesting
smalls.
Locals may remember “Dick” as a 1945 graduate of the
Governor’s Academy,
The epitome of a southern gentleman he was a loyal
friend who enjoyed the simpler things in life; spending time with friends, the
New York Times, watching Doc Martin, listening to Shostakovich, pancakes,
lobster rolls, and mint chip ice cream. Dick had a quick wit that was always
appreciated and told great stories of his life and how Newburyport once was.
Others still may remember his long time patronage of
the local art scene; purchasing local works of art from the Newburyport Art
Association and Churchill’s Gallery, Newburyport (one time the region’s
preeminent art gallery for contemporary artists).
This sale presents a collection of fine art,
antiques and collectables for patrons to discover in person with no internet
bidding.
We look forward to seeing you at the Masonic Center,
Green Street, Newburyport as there most likely will be something of interest to
everyone.
