AUCTION The Private Library of Dr. Arthur Greenberg, Rye, NH
The private library of Dr. Arthur Greenberg has taken
over half a century to amass. It is
comprised of over 1500 volumes on the subjects of alchemy and chemistry and is
now being offered unreserved at public auction.
In this auction you will find rare and harder-to-find imprints published
as early as 1540, in (11) countries including, Ireland, Scotland, England,
France, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Russia, as well as in (14) languages
including Latin, Russian,Yiddish and Hebrew.
Arthur Greenberg, PHD of Rye, NH is an organic chemist interested in unusual
(high-energy, distorted) molecules. Prior to joining University of New
Hampshire and serving as dean of Engineering and Physical Sciences (2000-2005),
he was the chemistry department chair at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte (1994-2000) and prior to that director of the graduate program in
environmental sciences at Rutgers University (1989-1994).
He has published more than 130 refereed articles and
book chapters, authored five books, and co-edited 18 books.
He is the founding co-editor of the journal Structural Chemistry. Professor
Greenberg's most recent book, From
Alchemy to Chemistry in Picture and Story, was published by John
Wiley and Sons.
